AMORACAST GOLD: Amoracast gold vermeille is 14kt yellow gold plated over solid 925 silver and each piece will be stamped 925. The 14kt gold plating thickness is about 0.5 micron. A protective coating, much like a ceramic glaze, is then baked on – making it highly durable against wear and tear, and will prevent future tarnish. Although the plating is thinner than the requisite 2 microns in order to be labeled gold vermeille in the USA, our labour intensive process is far more durable and tarnish resistant than a 2 micron plating. Depending on the laws in your country on the minimum plating thickness in order to be labeled gold vermeille, you may choose to describe these pieces as 14kt Gold Plated Sterling with Protective Coating.
